TEMPLE, Texas — Lindsay Lipman has joined News 6 in 2022 and will co-anchor the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscast with longtime KCEN anchor Chris Radcliffe. He’s excited to be back at his hometown market and bring news to the community he loves every night.
Lindsay is a native of Central Texas, grew up in Mexico and graduated in 1999. He earned a journalism degree from Texas A&M University in 2003 and began his career as a news reporter at KBTX-TV in Bryan/College Station.
He moved to New England and launched the first CBS affiliate in Western Massachusetts as the main anchor at WSHM-TV.
The sun and sand of Southwest Florida beckoned. Lindsey was promoted to Morning and Noon Anchor at WINK-TV in Ft. Myers, Florida, where he published historic coverage of NASA’s latest launch and won an Emmy and Edward R. Received the Murrow Award. He exposed inconsistencies in the statements of witnesses to the police.
As a weekend anchor for WMTW-TV in Portland, Oregon, he covered former President George W. Bush’s 90th birthday skydive over Kennebunkport — exactly ten years after Lindsey skydived from College Station as a teenager. a child reporter.
As Lindsay’s family grew, so did the desire to move home.
Lindsay anchored CBS Austin News Breaking News and received a Lone Star Emmy nomination for crime news for her story “Seeking Justice: The Austin Sex Trafficking Triangle,” which exposed sex trafficking between Dallas, Houston and Austin. CBS earned five Emmy nominations for its work in Austin, including Outstanding Live Anchor, an unscripted coverage of The Austin Serial Bomber, Hurricane Harvey and the weekly segment “Forever Families.”
Most recently, Lindsey was an anchor in the Waco/Temple/Killeen television market, known for her community-oriented stories, which earned her an Edward R. He won the Murrow Award and the International Telly Award for his first directorial debut. Blood, Sweat and Beats: The Waco Hip-Hop Story Documentary. The film premiered to a sold-out crowd at the Waco Racetrack in February 2020 and made hip-hop history in Waco.
Lindsay’s love of music led to her syndicated television show Texas Voices, which aired for three seasons on Central Texas Television. He also led the successful effort to earn Wacogo the Texas Music Office’s Music Friendly Community designation.
In 2022, she launched the non-profit Cyndi Walker Foundation in her hometown of Mejia to preserve and promote the legacy of Country Music Hall of Fame songwriter Cyndi Walker. That’s the focus of the second feature-length documentary Lindsey is co-directing and producing.
Lindsay loves the news, but what she loves most is her family. He has four young children whom he calls the “Fab 4”. Micah, Sawyer, Luke and Gracie have been familiar with camera lights since birth and you’ll see them on KCEN from time to time. Her youngest, Gracie, wants to be a news reporter one day.
