Nothing Bundt Cakes, a chain that offers, well, nothing more than bundt cakes, has been running in Santa Maria since early November.

Terre and Tom Downey, owners of the Nothing Bundt Cakes franchises in Ventura and Santa Barbara, own and operate the new location in the Enos Ranch West development on Betteravia Road in Santa Maria. It is the third Downey location.

The bakery is the newest business to open in downtown Enos Ranch West, which is anchored by the Aldi grocery store, Boot Barn, and the newly opened Guitar Center. There is also the new Crumbl Cookies franchise on that corner. Raising Cane’s, the take-out chicken restaurant, also generates much of the downtown shopping traffic. Dutch Bros. Coffee, Mattress Firm, Chipotle Mexican Grill, and Juice It Up! They have also opened a store there. A Firehouse Subs franchise is also slated to arrive soon.

Although Nothing Bundt Cakes opened its doors on November 4, the venue plans to hold opening festivities beginning the week of December 5. In addition to hosting a benefit day for the Boys and Girls Club of Mid Central Coast, the bakery will host a ribbon-cutting and community event giving away miniature bundt cakes, or “Bundtlets,” for one year.

“We are excited to be an active part of this community by hosting fundraisers for schools and donating to philanthropic organizations to support their missions,” said Terre Downey. “We love the small-town feel of Santa Maria and know we can make a positive impact by providing job opportunities as well as celebrating life’s moments through this delicious cake.”

Grand opening event details include the ribbon cutting with the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, December 8 at 11:30 am The following day, Friday, December 9, will be Boys Benefit Day and Girls Club of Mid Central Coast from opening to closing, where 20% of sales will be donated to the organization dedicated to promoting safe, positive and inclusive environments.
